Sometimes cosmetic surgery isn’t just for vanity purposes.  Sometimes it’s for a new start.  May patients have trouble and think it is nearly impossible to get their tummies back to the way they looked before having children.  They diet, exercise, and invest in expensive creams and garments without much reward.

Not all patients are in need of a full abdominoplasty.  Sometimes the excess tissue is minimal and the muscle tone is great so a mini abdominoplasty works just as well.  With a smaller incision and less down time these patients are back to normal activity in less time than traditional abdominoplasty patients.

This patient was one of those that needed only minor correction and was very happy with the results she received from the mini-abdominoplasty.  She was forty when she came to see me.  She was unhappy with the excess skin to her abdomen and wanted to it removed but didn’t want to go through the pain and recovery of the full tummy tuck. 

Her procedure was performed under general anesthesia.  She had minimal pain which was controlled well with prescription pain medication.  The patient was off work for a short recovery but was back to normal activity in no time.
