Concerns

Age Spots/ Sun Spots

Age Spots form on hands, neck and face, which suggests overexposure of the skin to the sun. Sun spots (age spots) are harmless, flat, brown discolorations of the skin. These spots more than anything else, give away a person's age. As your body ages your skin becomes thinner making the "spots" more noticeable.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles are signs of aging; there's no way to entirely avoid them. As we grow older, our skin becomes thinner and drier. Weakened collagen makes the skin less elastic. The rate of aging occurs at a variable, genetically determined rate; the process is often first noticeable after the age of 30.

Active Acne:

Acne afflicts almost everyone at some point in their life, for some, acne can persist as a serious problem even into adulthood. Though there is no cure for acne, it can be controlled.

Acne Scarring

Many men and women who have had acne during their lives are often left with scars. These scars are a result of collagen and epidermal damage and do not go away without treatment. Smoothing the scar with laser and microdermabrasion treatments can alter the appearance of scarring.

Treatments

Microdermabrasion

A skin rejuvenation method, for the treatment of mild acne scarring, sun damage, age spots, blemishes, uneven pigmentation, enlarged pores and blackheads. Exfoliate away the dull layer of dead skin to smooth and retexturize, leaving the skin soft and glowing.

Procedure: Microdermabrasion removes the surface layer of the skin, without the use of chemicals or lasers. The procedure utilizes a crystal-free, diamond tip wand that attaches to the skin with suction and gently sands down surface layers of the skin. This process unblocks pores; removes and vacuums away dead skin cells, and stimulate circulation.

Many patients describe a slight scraping sensation during treatment, but the discomfort is minimal and anesthesia is not necessary.

Treatment Duration: Treatments take between 10 and 20 minutes.

After Care: Following treatment, the skin may appear slightly pinkish for approximately 24 to 48 hours. It is important to keep the skin well moisturized and protected with sunscreen.

Professional Chemical Peels

Utilizing alpha hydroxy acid (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), retinol and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) on the face and body, loosens dead cells from the skin's surface, revealing new, healthy cells. The result? Smooth, radiant, glowing skin.

Considerations:

  • Four to six treatments (2 weeks apart) are recommended for maximum results
  • Treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes
  • There may be some pinkness to the skin right after treatment
  • Patients can usually return to work or other activities right away
  • Mild skin flaking may occur up to 7 days after the treatment

Who Gives A Facial? A facial is given by a licensed esthetician with special training in skin care.

How Often Should I Get A Facial? Ideally, once a month or every six weeks to help the skin regenerate. Try to have a facial at least four times a year, as the seasons change.

KINERASE Pro+ Therapy Rx Skin Lightener:

A cream that contains a combination of hydroquinone 4%, glycolic acid, and vitamins C & E. Applied topically it can reduce the appearance of hyper-pigmented areas. People of all ethnicities have melanin hyper pigmentation. This common skin condition in which patches of skin become darker is due essentially to sun damage and occurs in different forms.

Age or sun spots: Solar lentigines: small brown patches found on the areas usually exposed to the sun (hands, face, chest).

Melasma Product ShotMelasma or Chloasma: Larger areas of darkened skin than age spots, appear on face or abdomen, and are frequently due to hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy (pregnancy mask) or by taking contraceptive pills.

Freckles: Small brown spots can appear anywhere on the body (face, arms, back and chest) and are a genetic characteristic.

Brown spots: Resulting from skin diseases, injuries, burns or surgeries. These forms of darkened skin get pronounced when the skin is exposed to the sun; the body produces an excess amount of melanin, the pigment portion of your skin.

Lasers

Eyes by Thermage™, the only procedure that smoothes and tightens skin and decreases wrinkles and hooding in the eye area without surgery, injections or downtime.

The procedure only takes about one hour. And because there is no bruising, swelling or sutures, you can apply make-up and return to your normal routine after the procedure

Tighter, smoother skin all around: Skin is smoother and younger looking with reduced crepiness

Reduces hooding: The brow area is tightened to reveal more eyelid for brighter, more refreshed eyes.

Tauter contours around the eye: Reduces under-eye bags

Soften fines lines and crow's feet: Delivers excellent results other treatments can't offer.

Thermage is a safe, clinically proven way to tighten and contour skin, with improvements in tone, contour, and texture occurring naturally through the stimulation of your own collagen.

Thermage is completely non-invasive—no surgery, no injections. A single treatment tightens your existing collagen and stimulates new collagen growth. Improvements are both immediately visible and continue up to six months. Results can last for years depending on your skin condition and age.

Unlike lasers, Thermage works on all skin types and tones. And unlike injections or fillers, Thermage works on your entire face — forehead, eyes, nasolabial folds, jaw line, jowls and the area under your chin.

FDA cleared for the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and rhytids.

The skin is made up of three distinct layers: a visible outer layer on the surface called the epidermis, a collagen-rich underlayer beneath the surface called the dermis, and an inner layer beneath the dermis called the subcutaneous layer, also known as the fat layer that has a web of collagen fibers running through it. When the collagen in these three layers break down due to sun exposure, family heredity, or the normal aging process, your skin begins to sag and wrinkle.

Thermage is a non-invasive procedure available that tightens and renews your skin's collagen in all three layers. How? Thermage's unique Capacitive Radiofrequency (CRF) technology safely heats your skin's underlayer and the web of collagen in the inner layer, causing an immediate tightening as well as improved tone and texture. And the improvements will continue and become even more noticeable for four to six months following treatment due to new collagen growth.

Normally, the complete procedure can be performed in just one session lasting from 20 minutes to a few hours, depending on the treatment area. General anesthesia is not required, but to make sure you are comfortable the doctor may offer light pain medications prior to treatment.

During the treatment, you'll feel a brief, heat sensation each time Thermage delivers radiofrequency energy to the underlayer of your skin. This indicates that your collagen is being stimulated and tightened.

But most people resume regular activities immediately after treatment, with no downtime or special follow-up care.

Immediate Results: You may feel and see your skin being smoother, firmer, and tighter immediately after your Thermage treatment. You may also notice some contouring effects which will begin enhancing the shape of skin.
